For a school just turning 7 years old with its 500+ students, storied building, and exceptional dining hall and dormitories, Lion of Judah High School certainly doesn’t look its age.

Just recently on June 24th it had its storied-chapel decorated in balloons and banners as students, teachers, parents, pastors, OBs, OGs, and neighboring schools came to celebrate the high school’s annual Scripture Union handover ceremony.

Lion of Judah High School opened 2017 in Kyampisi, Kayunga. Yet already it’s the highest performing secondary school in Kayunga district. In 2021 Lion of Judah High School boasted the most first grades on the Ugandan Certificate of Education exam, with pupil Mark Gitata leading the way with 13 aggregates.

Expansion

The following year in 2022, the high school produced the most 1st grades in Kayunga district once again.

Even in America, the high school has made itself known. In 2022 being endorsed by Lion of Judah High School, Tumusiime Sylivia began her civil engineering studies abroad at the University of Iowa. In 2023 more Lion of Judah High School students are expected to enroll overseas for university education.

“We put God first at the school and the rest followed,” said director and founder Saul Yawe concerning the success of the school.

All-Secondary School Teacher’s Union Host

This July 5th through 7th Lion of Judah High Schools is hosting an all-secondary school teacher’s union meeting at its 10-acre campus. Headmasters from Central region schools such as Mango S.S, St. Julian Gayaza, Seeta High School, Vision for Africa High School, and Kololo Elite High School shall be present at the event.

While host schools typically are 20+ years of age, Lion of Judah High School continues to do the extraordinary -hosting in just its 7th year of operation.
